The colors are weird…not the typical reds, greens, etc. The only color that is true and basic to nature is black. The shapes, also, are very limited. I thought there would be a wider variety of shapes. I bought the cards, but I don’t even use them. I wasted my money.

The colors are strange– the yellow is brownish, the red is dark– the colors aren’t bright and obvious the way you might think. I also ordered the “First Words” flashcards by the same company and I thought those were much better quality and better color reproduction.

They are still agood price, though. And the shapes are all true-to-life.

These cards are pretty sturdy but will bend with rough handling. I was disappointed that there are 54 cards but the only colors are : purple, white, black, red, green, blue, yellow, orange and brown. The shapes are: square, rectangle, circle, oval, diamond and triangle. Very limiting as far as the shapes goes. Perhaps if your child is 2yrs old these will be helpful but not if they already know some shapes and colors.

I was a bit worried after reading the reviews that the cards would be “flimsy” but they are sturdier than some of the more expensive flash cards I have purchased. I bought the shapes/colors, numbers and letters for my 2 year old. The shapes/colors are very basic and my daughter already knows them so they bore her quickly. I was hoping for a larger variety of shapes. It only includes squares, circles, rectangles and ovals. We did come up with some fun sorting games to play (for example – put all the green in one pile or put all the squares here) with the cards so she enjoys playing those types of games. Overall for the cost I am satisfied.

My little boy loves to use these and they are a great help for learning his colors and shapes. They hold up well too.
